Position Summary

The purpose of this role is to maintain control and organization of the entire container yard and all associated inventory and equipment. This person is responsible for cleaning, repairing and scrapping of all containers that come into the yard. Additionally, he will maintain the yard organization and inventory as per site guidelines.

Accountabilities

  • Safety and your Cart Maintenance Program
  • Become familiar with and follow our Plan to Zero (PTZ • Zero accidents by FY22)
  • Learn from the Monthly Training and DOT topics and participate/contribute to the discussion.
  • Immediately notify the Site Manager of any unsafe situations or concerns.
  • Wear all necessary PPE and follow all safety procedures while performing work.
  • Follow and understand the safety requirements / precautions for all chemicals associated with cart cleaning from the SDS Manual.
  • Follow established procedures in the case of an accident and notify Site Manager immediately.
  • Provide the Best Possible Service in Order to Exceed Customers Expectations and Contribute to the Feedback Loop
  • Separate dirty carts, repairable carts and scrap (unrepairable) carts.
  • Repair all carts that are repairable.
  • Wash all dirty and repaired carts according to established procedures.
  • Break down and process all unrepairable scrap carts according to established procedures including salvaging spare parts, recording serial numbers etc.
  • Take responsibility if you make a mistake and ask if you don•t know something.
  • Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Keep the yard organized and clean according to established procedures.
  • Cross Functional Support
  • Utilize to Rehrig Management System to better understand key accountabilities, work, and team•s work
  • Support team, be willing to help others at the site.
  • Work with other team members to share lessons learned and best practices.

  • Qualifications

    A person filling this role would need to exhibit core performance behaviors of: Living Our Values, Customer Focus, Decision Quality, Action Oriented, Communicates Effectively, Values Differences, Being Resilient
    • Experience in a fast-paced, production based warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
    • High School Diploma, GED, or comparable work related experience preferred.
