Supervises and coordinates activities of receiving, renovation and shipping employees by performing the following duties. The Yard Services Supervisor drives a culture of safety through leading by example, setting expectations and standards, and reinforcing positive behavior during the course of daily business. Ensures compliance of all Company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness throughout the facility. Overseeing all incident reporting and root cause analysis.

• Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and standards.

• Studies shipping and renovation schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.

• Grows a culture of Operational Excellence through challenging status quo, the relentless pursuit of improvement and challenging and working with your team to implement internally generated ideas.

• Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.

• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet renovation and shipping schedules.

• Recommends and implements measures to improve renovation methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

• Suggests and facilitates implementation of changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, departments, or work crew.

• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.

• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

• Coordinates shipping schedules between the yard and customer service.

• Directly supervises Lead hourly employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Ability to positively motivate associates through communication and strong interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time without sacrificing quality of work.

• Ability to effectively interact with all members of the organization and work with cross-functional teams.

• Strong attention to detail.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee is required to have the ability to use a keyboard, monitor and calculator. The employee must have the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone. The employee must lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds assisted.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal protective equipment as required (safety shoes, safety glasses, etc.). May be exposed to heat and cold weather on occasion.
