Our Pennington, AL site is currently seeking a Woodyard Technician to join our team. This position will work in a high energy, dynamic organization and is responsible for safely operating and performing preventative maintenance on the equipment which allows for smooth and successful operation in the woodyard.

This position pays $30.20 per hour and will work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am.

Our Team

Naheola Mill located in Pennington, Alabama, is a manufacturing site for the company's well-known consumer products business, producing a wide range of products for the consumer business, including Angel Soft® bath tissue and Sparkle® paper towels, as well as bleached paperboard used in Dixie® paper cups and plates. The mill is the largest employer in the community and is engaged in supporting community outreach, workforce development and education.

What You Will Do


    • Serve as the on-shift technology operator for the Woodyard work system

    • Perform equipment adjustments, minor repairs, maintenance and other work
    • Create an environment where the team achieves zero incidents in Environmental, Health and Safety performance metrics
    • Perform housekeeping duties in the Woodyard area
    • Work closely with the Master Technician and Precision Technicians to learn, operate, maintain and improve the Technology Center to meet Product System business needs (e.g. identify and correct upset conditions and opportunities for improvement on the equipment)
    • Perform Reliability Functions, such as, Operator Basic Care (OBC), lubrication and PM's, in a consistent manner
    • Monitor the ongoing operation of multiple pieces of equipment at one time
    • Monitor and maintain the quality standards of the finished product, and the quality of your specific process's output
    • Share knowledge with team members and update the Learning Management System to ensure continuity between shifts
    • Perform work at up to 80-foot heights
    • Work outside in all weather conditions
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three or more years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience using a computer or tablet for documentation and/or recording keeping functions

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (wheel loaders, skid steers, knuckle booms, bobcats, etc.)
  • Woodyard experience
  • HMI experience

This role is part of the collective bargaining agreement and the starting pay for this role is set at $30.20 per hour.
