Description
Under general supervision from the Deputy Director Industries, manages and supervises all warehouse operations and the quality assurance program for all incoming raw material and finished products within Correction Industries. Hiring rate $19.534 - $27.905/hour based upon experience. Additional $3/hour facility differential for hours worked. Information about the Department can be found at: www.corrections.nebraska.gov. Work schedule: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Examples of Work
Quality assurance inspection of incoming raw material and finished products. Provides supervision, training and directs the work of warehouse staff and inmate workers. Schedules and dispatches delivery trucks. Supervision of staff and inmate workers loading trucks with Correctional Industries products (i.e. checks for proper products, padding, packaging and delivery schedules.) Maintains a perpetual inventory of raw materials and finished products stored in the warehouse. Supervision of maintenance on equipment and warehouse building. Acts as liaison between Corrections Industries and customers regarding specific information on products, delivery, inventory, etc. Prepares performance evaluations for inmate workers. Certify inmate workers on forklift.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: High school education plus four to six years related work experience, two of which should have been in a supervisory capacity.

PREFERRED: Class B CDL. Experience with Inventory Tracking Software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

OTHER: Must have a valid drivers license. Must obtain Class B CDL within 6 months of hire.* Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Knowledge of: warehouse and storage operations; inventory control; office policies and procedures; agency manufacturing and production standards; machinery and building maintenance; basic accounting practices. Ability to: plan, organize and delegate the work of subordinate staff and legal offenders; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; organize and utilize storage area.
