The incumbent must have outstanding multi-channel trade relationships and comprehensive market knowledge, understand competitive and economic conditions and possess proven ability to identify and proactively respond to market trends.

This position reports directly to the Sr. Vice President, Champion N.A. The incumbent will participate in collaboration with other company executives in all aspects of the development, implementation and achievement of business strategies/plans. The individual must ensure functional responsibilities are executed in support of our Full Potential Plan. Additionally, the incumbent will ensure that Hanesbrands Inc Global Operating Principles are upheld and that diversity goals are aggressively managed.

Responsibilities

The Vice President of Sales, Champion N.A. is responsible for attainment of annual sales and profit objectives for Champion NA - Retail channel. This includes, but not limited Sporting Goods, Athletic Specialty, Trend Specialty, Alpha, Mid-tier/Department Stores and Regional Accounts, Clubs and the Off Price Channel in the US and Canada. This includes full management of all sales relationships and retail marketing/trade programs via a combination of HBI's internal sales team and outside sales agencies. The incumbent will develop and execute short and long range sales and marketing plans that strengthen Champion's position as a premier Athletic Lifestyle brand.

  • This passionate executive will be responsible for the collaboration and execution of brand initiatives and product concepts with retail partners to drive increased productivity and market share plans that align and exceed company sales and profit objectives.
  • Develop, oversees and directs the operations of the Champion Sales organization through a close working relationships with the Senior Management Team and Sales Directors to clearly establish priorities and clearly defined objectives and brand strategy to include account and product segmentation.
  • Establishes monthly, quarterly and annual goals, objectives, forecasts and plans to support the overall Champion Strategic Business Plan and Full Potential initiatives.
  • Leads the development of the Key Account Strategic Business Plans consistent with the Brand's overall strategic plan.
  • Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current market and economic conditions.
  • Reviews operating results of the wholesale organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Play an integral role in driving SKU/Inventory and S&OP planning and productivity
  • Constantly strives for enhanced communication throughout the organization, conducting market meetings, quarterly updates, daily interaction with staff and functional support areas with "meaningful conversations" and a relentless commitment to quarterly and annual targets. Fosters and leads a performance culture throughout the organization.
  • Establishes internal network of resources to support the activities of the wholesale business and secure alignment on major initiatives with supply chain, design, merchandising and the product marketing teams.
  • Develops and maintains regular contact with executives of US Key Accounts to understand their business, market needs and align operations to deliver "best in class" service and LEADING solutions.
  • Interpret and understand market dynamics, predict shifts, and develop strategies which enable the wholesale division to meet its targets, margins and marketing objectives.
  • With Senior Management Team, creates a high performance "best in class" work environment for the progression of talent and development of staff to meet the growing needs of the business.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree/MBA preferred
  • 15 years plus related experience operating an athletic apparel, footwear or lifestyle brand wholesale organization in a consumer based company.
  • First-hand knowledge of the US sporting goods market and the key athletic specialty accounts
  • Proven track record of building and leading large teams to success.
