Position Summary:

Research, design, implement, coordinate and assess primary interpersonal violence (IPV) prevention and gender equity programming and initiatives informed by current research, expert consensus, promising practices in the field, and aligned with the Center's mission, vision, and values. Direct Certified Peer Educator program and/or coordinate and manage the Center's assessment initiatives.

Specific Job Duties and Tasks:

  • Direct and manage the Certified Peer Educator (CPE) program and/or direct and manage the Center's assessment initiatives.
  • Interpret and apply relevant policies, protocols and legal requirements in response to questions, requests for assistance, or other inquiries related to interpersonal violence.
  • Develop and refine training methods and content informed by current research and practice in the field of anti-violence work, relevant academic disciplines, and professional organizations; conduct literature reviews and analyze theoretical models from appropriate academic disciplines.
  • Conduct assessment of educational needs for specific populations and develop curricula and pedagogical strategies which are relevant and responsive to their needs.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to other campus professionals on development, implementation and evaluation of IPV prevention education and programming.
  • Assist volunteer recruitment, training and deployment. Participate in developing strategies to enhance, improve and strengthen training curricula and practices; research and develop new volunteer opportunities to respond to emerging needs and opportunities.
  • Develop and prepare, funding proposals and oversee all aspects of implementation, including budget management, of awards.
  • Develop and coordinate activities of Violence Prevention team including assessment planning, assignment of responsibilities for specific initiatives, tracking and reporting training activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience (typically three to five years) with related program development and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to co-creating a positive work environment for all.
  • Extensive experience (typically one to three years) in training and managing volunteers and/or student staff/trainees.
  • Demonstrated working ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Experience training, mentoring and supervising student peer educators.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and online training platforms (Skype, Zoom).
  • Working knowledge of and ability to utilize various methods to deliver learning solutions for desired training outcomes as a trainer and/or teacher for college populations.
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • Training and/or certification in bystander intervention and other violence prevention education modalities.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Higher Education/Student Development Gender/Women's Studies or other related field.
  • Professional work experience (typically one to three years) in interpersonal violence services and/or prevention, and/or gender equity.
  • Formal training and/or certification as a Sexual Assault or Domestic Violence Advocate.
  • Linguistic and cultural fluency in more than one culture / language.
