Summary of Duties:

The Video Content Producer position is responsible for assisting in all areas of the WSU Sports Video Department. Assist in producing creative video, graphics, photos, and other creative content for assigned sports in a timely manner, while meeting the overall strategy and philosophy goals of the department. These include, but are not limited to: coverage and posting on wsucougars.com of all press conferences, coverage of all home-events, the setup and operation of webcasting equipment for non-TV events, editing and posting to wsucougars.com and internal FTP event highlights/re-caps, editing and posting of social media event promotions and special features. The creation of special projects as directed. Assist with the in-house video productions as directed. Assist with the maintenance and support of the Sports Video archive.


Required Qualifications:

  • High School graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in electronics, television operations, or production, including one year as a TV/Video Equipment Operator 1; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, and one year of experience with sports video production, or related action oriented video production, OR equivalent education and experience.

  • Work experience that demonstrates knowledge of new multimedia technologies including networked computer editing.

  • Work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully operate and manage remote cameras, scheduling, multimedia equipment, and non-linear editing systems.

  • Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver's license by time of hire.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year in an athletic work environment as a videographer/editor.

  • Experience shooting and editing highlight/motivational videos.

  • Experience producing content for social media distribution.

  • Work experience that demonstrates working knowledge of electronic graphic design and use, as well as the use of special visual techniques consistent with industry standards.

  • Experience with remote production, webcast and/or in-house.

  • Master's degree in Film, Communications, or related field.

Monthly Salary: Range 32, $2,697 - $3,480 | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
