The University of Louisville (UofL) invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice Provost for Online Strategy and Teaching Innovation (VPOSTI). Reporting to the Executive Vice President and University Provost, the vice provost will be responsible for developing and implementing a university-wide strategy to grow the development and delivery of high-quality online instruction to traditional and adult learners. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing programming and other resources to faculty members that promote excellence and innovation in teaching and foster student learning across delivery modalities.  The VPOSTI provides oversight for the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning, a center comprised of more than 50 professionals and an $8+ million budget dedicated to continuous improvement of online learning as well as teaching and learning.  

The VPOSTI will be an academic innovator with extensive knowledge in educational technology and higher education trends and current research on digital teaching and learning, online learning pedagogy, and the emerging platforms and tools for delivering digital education. This role works strategically to create, implement, and champion quality standards and is responsible for developing best practices for teaching and learning across learning modalities.

The VPOSTI will be an experienced administrator who connects with the mission, culture, and operations of the University of Louisville who can lead strategic planning, testing and implementation of business plans for both degree and non-degree program offerings, including non-credit to credit pathways and stackable credentials. The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree in higher education administration, instructional technology, or related field; minimum three years of experience in college-level teaching as a faculty member; ten years of higher education experience, preferably in the areas of online learning and faculty/educational development; familiarity with accreditation practices and requirements (SACSCOC), federal and state regulations pertaining to online education compliance and student protection, and knowledge of best practices in pedagogy, teaching and learning, faculty professional development, and educational technology.
