We are currently seeking a Vice President on our Employee Health & Benefits team based in Troy, MI.

Our office in Troyserves the group benefit needs of organizations headquartered in Michigan that employ between 100 and 10,000 workers. We provide innovative and individually tailored cost reduction strategies and tactics in all of the functional elements of group benefit plans. This position prepares an associate to progress into a Producer position. Sales Associates work in a variety of situations, at times working as members of a team and other times working alone on an assignment. Sales Associates are under close supervision of the Sales Leader and performance is monitored to assess readiness for advancement as opportunities

We will count on you to:

Responsible for developing existing client relationships and new business opportunities via meetings, telephone calls and emails as agreed upon by the associate and Sales Leader.
  • Consult with clients regarding their benefit options to identify how they can make their business more profitable.
  • Advise on existing product solutions and forthcoming product developments.
  • Coordinate servicing of the client within the scope of the services available.
  • Provide accurate, rapid cost calculations, and quotations based on variations in coverages.
  • Meet with the Sales Leader to review goals and prospective clients, and review sales performance against targets as experience is gained.
  • Represent the firm at trade exhibitions and events.
  • Record sales information and provide to appropriate departments within the firm.

Support life cycle of clients to understand services that MMA offers and team member roles
  • Assist servicing of the client within the scope of the services available.
  • Prepare for prospect and client meetings based on sales mentor(s) and/or service team requests
  • Assist with completion of analysis and review projects

Support Sales Mentor(s) in prospecting and client relationship management activities.
  • Develop and qualify prospecting lists
  • Conduct outbound calls
  • Prepare marketing materials

Support Sales Team through various sales related projects as determined by Sales Leaders and Sales Training Manager, including but not limited to
  • Assist with completion of Requests for Proposal
  • Support creation and review of finalist presentations
  • Support social media initiatives
  • Represent the firm at trade exhibitions and events.
  • Act as connection between Marketing Communications and Producers through cross departmental project support

Develop problem-solving skills to understand, anticipate, and meet clients' needs.
  • Attend departmental and sales meetings as required.
  • Identify needs and competencies to be acquired, and make use of training opportunities.
  • Learn client policy requirements, internal systems and departmental procedures/policies.
  • Plan ahead and problem solve - anticipate, report, and help resolve problems that occur.

All other duties as assigned.

What you need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; Obtain and maintain valid Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses and meet the continuing education requirements.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing sales/business development career, with a confident and determined approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects while ensuring timely and accurate deliverables, with effective problem solving and resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational, project planning and management, analytical and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent relationship building and presentation skills, as well as a high degree of self-motivation and drive.
  • Superior listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.
