VCA Hawthorn Animal Hospital technician team is growing, and we are looking for a team orientated Certified Veterinary Technician!

Who We Are: At VCA Hawthorn Animal Hospital, we help pets live long, healthy and happy lives. We deliver the best medical care for pets and the best experience for pet owners. We are a full-service facility offering Preventative/Routine care, dentistry and soft tissue surgeries.

Overall Responsibility: Our CVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients.

  • Assist doctors with exams, treatments and procedures.
  • Venipuncture and IVC placement
  • Administer SQ fluids, medications, etc.
  • Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients are receiving the best possible care and communicating frequently with the team.
  • Recognize subtle change in clinical status.
  • Discharge instructions with clients when they are able to bring their furry family member back home with them.
  • Complete estimates, basic record keeping.
  • Surgical preparation and assisting.
  • Anesthesia monitoring.
  • Dentistry

Compensation:
