Position Summary:
The University Honors Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing key areas of honors education at the University of Idaho. Under the direct supervision of the director, this position manages the following areas, including the honors living-and-learning experiences: all student success services, academic advising, and student record management; coordination and delivery of curricular and co-curricular high-impact learning experiences and program activities; new student recruitment, applications and admissions, and scholarship making; marketing and communication, including social media and web presence; alumni relations and outreach; contribution to program review and assessment; and support of the Honors Program Faculty Fellows and the Distinguished Scholarships Program Faculty Fellow. The University Honors Program Coordinator also contributes to cultivating a climate that consistently encourages and celebrates diversity and academic excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent • Experience compiling records, creating spread sheets and data bases, and running reports using word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Experience presenting information to small and large groups.
• Experience working in a high demand office with minimal supervision.
• Experience balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Previous experience working with Honors or high-achieving students in a university setting and/or delivering student-centered customer service.
• Experience recruiting and advising students.
• Experience with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, supervisors, co-workers, and the public.
• Demonstrated excellence in oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to exercise good judgment and effective decision-making.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty and external partners to advance the mission of the University Honors Program.
• Knowledge of university policies, procedures, and software, such as Banner, Slate, VandalStar, etc.
• Eligible for possible certification to drive university owned vehicles.
• Ability to travel and to attend periodic evening and weekend recruiting events and program activities.
• Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move up to 30 pounds.
