As a Compliance Analyst in Financial Crimes Compliance, you will support the development of analytics, reporting, and sophisticated data products throughout Global Compliance, engaging with risk stakeholders to resolve issues and explore opportunities. Through data analysis and reporting, this position will support the ongoing enhancement of the Compliance analytics program: including risk models, system enhancements, and Compliance controls. These domains involve AML/Fraud risk associated with Western Union's Agents, consumers, corridors, products, and geographies.

Additionally, in this unique program, you'll join others in this cohort in a five-month-long series of networking and skills development activities as part of your initial onboarding at Western Union. Along with the responsibilities above, you will gain exposure to CliftonStrengths® coaching, topical deep-dive sessions, team building, executive networking opportunities, and enriching team project work.

This role is designed for young professionals beginning their careers. You will have recently (Winter of 2020 or Spring of 2021) received your undergraduate degree in a related business field.

Whilst you may not have professional work experience, we are looking for you to bring the following general skills to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance).

  • Quantitative or investigative analytical background required with experience with common analytic methods, dashboards, reporting tools.

  • Experience querying data from SQL, Snowflake, MySQL, or other relational databases.

  • Experience with at least one BI/data visualization software (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

  • Desire to constantly learn and evolve technical skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.

The Compliance Analyst will gain the following experience by:

  • Collect, process, cleanse, and perform statistical data analysis on a variety of Compliance risk subjects.

  • Assist in fulfilling data requests from regulatory exams and auditors.

  • Query data and improve projects daily using MS SQL and Snowflake.

  • Develop and maintain various management reporting streams to support Global Compliance.

  • Learn and share tech knowledge with a passion; raise the bar for the team's best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with modeling governance and procedures.

  • Become a Compliance domain expert via nonstop data exploration and inquisitive conversations.

  • Communicate compellingly to non-technical audiences.

Annual base salary gross:  $54,467 - $62,637.

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Union's total compensation package for employees.
