Uncrewed Ground Vehicle Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and/or oversee development of drawings, specifications, and submittal schedules.
• Work cross-functionally with different teams and organizations
• Assist with the manufacture and assembly of unmanned ground vehicles
• Innovative mechanical design and rapid prototyping of advanced electro-mechanical systems
• Develop simulation and analysis test requirements for thermal management, fluid flow, structural integrity, and high vibration and shock environments
• Design validation test development
• Design documentation
• Technical communication with internal and external customers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school
• 5-7 years working as a mechanical engineer.
• Experience in the design of electro-mechanical systems using SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or similar 3D solid modeling CAD software. SolidWorks preferred.
• Must be able to work within a fast-paced environment, often with evolving requirements.
• Preferred
  • Experience in rapid prototyping utilizing 3D printers, metal and plastic machining, and carbon fiber is desired
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for both structural, vibration, and shock analysis using Ansys or other similar simulation software is desired
  • Experience in 2D drawing generation from solid model and in interpreting GD&T and designing using GD&T.
  • Experience in hybrid automotive powertrains and vehicle design
  • Experience interfacing and communicating with customers (preferably Government or DoD)
  • Field test experience
  • Experience working with machine shops to fabricate mechanical assemblies.
