Information Technology - Enterprise Application Services (IT/EAS) Dedicated to quality, innovation, engagement, integrity and inclusion, Information Technology/Enterprise Application Services (IT/EAS) maintains the highest standards in providing a wide range of software solutions to units throughout the University. IT/EAS maintains software systems that support the University's core business as well as develops custom applications in partnership with DU departments to enhance services to our community. Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Intranet/Mobile/Integration, this part-time position will serve as a UI/UX Designer for the 4D Student Experience platform project. UI/UX Designer will be responsible for gathering user requirements, designing graphic elements, and building navigation components for the 4D platform. The designer will also be responsible for studying the user experience and measuring how easy it is to complete tasks in an efficient manner while improving ease-of-use capabilities through different approaches.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct user research and testing
  • Develop wireframes and task flows based on user needs
  • Collaborate with application developers to create intuitive, user-friendly 4D dashboard for students within the DU portal
  • Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g., usability, findability)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Background in project management and research
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with individuals at a variety of levels within the organization
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study or a combination of related work experience and education
  • 2+ years of UX/UI design experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience with digital design of user portals

  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl under desks/tables to troubleshoot cables and network connections; talk or hear; walk-up flights of stairs.
Work Schedule

Part-time, 10-20 hours a week.

Salary Range

The hourly range for the position is $40.00-$45.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
