We have an opportunity for you to join the New Haven Treasury team as part of the wider Group Treasury function based in our central Cambridge office. You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day risk management and short-term liquidity of the Group and be involved in and leading value-add Treasury projects.

The Group Treasury team is currently made up of 22 individuals, supporting the AstraZeneca Group on all Treasury matters. The role and current size of the core Treasury team provides an excellent opportunity to directly contribute to the Treasury function of a global FTSE 3 company, with sales of our products into more than 125 countries. Main duties and Responsibilities

There are two analyst roles who share the following key responsibilities:

  • Business unit support - providing advice and delivering solutions on a wide range of Treasury matters, principally for Alexion business units, but may include wider group entities or projects. This includes reviewing banking arrangements and where appropriate, coordinating changes to any new banking partners
  • Cash repatriation - working with the business, tax and statutory reporting teams to identify and implement dividend and other cash repatriation opportunities to Group Treasury.
  • Liquidity Management - Supporting the analysis and presentation of daily external cash positions to ensure the market execution team has full visibility of group wide cash. Confirming and settling any local investments. Managing the monthly intercompany payment process for those entities that do not participate in the Group's netting program.
  • Banking Connectivity - Management and oversight to ensure external banking connectivity and integration with 3rd party system providers consistently operate at the highest levels of availability and reliability.
  • Master Data - ensuring treasury master data and external SSIs in the Treasury Management System (TMS) are 100% accurate and maintained according to internal controls.
  • KYC Management - working with banking partners to certify all of Alexion's entity information for new entities and for the annual refresh of current entities.
  • Regulatory reporting - Responsible for relevant submission for both Alexion and US signers (eg FBAR).
  • Driving the improvement agenda - develop, enhance and deliver on existing key month-end KPI's or process improvements to ensure Group Treasury continue to operate at the highest possible levels of operational excellence.
  • Support 'Best in Class' treasury operations - our ambition is to continue our automation and operational standardisation in order to remain at the cutting edge of our industry, we require all of our team to support ongoing treasury transformation initiatives and projects, as well as to bring your own suggestions and initiative into play. Your ideas, input and drive are key factors in achieving this goal.
  • Control environment - Ensuring all activities are performed within the controls and parameters established under the Group Treasury Policies and Treasury SOx Controls.

Essential Requirements
  • Studying for the CTP Qualifications, qualified to degree level.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience of working in an international Treasury or shared service function.
  • Proven understanding of Treasury operational procedures.
  • Good understating of treasury management systems (Quantum) and a vision of best practices for treasury activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster working relationships within AstraZeneca and with our external financial counterparties.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable with basic statistical and financial analysis
  • Sets high personal standards and takes responsibility for delivering top-class service to the business.
  • Focus on delivery and able to work accurately under pressure and at speed to meet tight deadlines
