What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is looking for a Traffic and Intelligent Transportation Engineer with interest in supporting traffic engineering and intelligent transportation systems design in the Transportation business unit. This position is located in our Atlanta Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the design of a variety of Traffic, Signals and Intelligent transportation engineering projects
  • Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to help resolve a variety of complex problems
  • Assists in the analysis, preparation or modification of technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications and permits for projects
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
  • Participates in project site visits with other project team members as needed
  • Prepare Various types of traffic studies such as traffic impact studies, Intersection safety analysis, Interchange analysis, assist with corridor planning documents
  • Provides Intersection and corridor operational analysis
  • Assists with the development of intersection operational improvements
  • Prepares traffic signal and signing/pavement marking designs
  • Using synchro software develop and help implement signal timing plans
  • Works with other disciplines such as survey, roadway design, and environmental to increase engineering knowledge and facilitate successful project delivery
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail
  • Performs other duties as requested


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
  • 0 - 4 years of aviation design experience. Prior internship experience is a plus
  • EIT Certification, or an ability to obtain EIT within 6 months of start date, is required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to work and learn in a fast-paced collaborative team atmosphere with an established group of surveyors, engineers, scientists, and administrative staff
