Job Description Summary

Lamb Weston is searching for a Transformation Program Accounting Manager. This role performs key functions within the program office for strategic transformative programs. The Transformation Program Accounting Manager will be principally assigned to Project Transformation, a global, multi-year program.
This position is responsible for accounting for our global ERP implementation, working closely with the Program Lead, Lamb Weston Delivery Lead, and members of the Lamb Weston and Lamb Weston Meijer accounting teams. Success in this position requires knowledge of SAP S4 or similar integrated accounting solution, best practices in Project Accounting, and familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Advanced understanding of and ability to analyze with MS Excel is critical for this role. The consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of communicating program accounting matters are vital and must clearly convey program status and forecasts.

The Transformation Program Accounting Manager is responsible for program transactions, financial period close, spend forecasting, annual spend planning, and other program administration work as required.

Job Description

  • Perform month-end accounting for Project Transformation with limited oversight
  • Prepare and update forecasts of spend for Project Transformation
  • Monthly controlling/monitoring of actual & forecasted costs for Project Transformation
  • Regularly prepare executive Budget / Actual / Forecast reporting
  • Identify ways to improve transaction processing and forecasting which impact Project Transformation
  • Effectively communicate information impacting Project Transformation spend and budget
  • Perform financial analysis to assist project management team in making sound financial decisions
  • Manage contract service costs in cooperation with our procurement and payables teams
  • Account for and forecast Joint Venture cost sharing in accordance with unique contract terms
  • Understand and utilize SAP S4 accounting solution effectively, ensuring adequate controls and reliability of results
  • Provide timely and accurate status reports while conducting complex analyses of data to identify trends, unusual variances, and deviations that should be brought to management's attention
  • Exercise judgment in process and transactional analysis to identify and help resolve issues with Project Transformation costs
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively work in a team environment both within and outside of assigned area of responsibility
  • Travel as required, though limited
  • Must be able to adapt to new responsibilities as our program continues to evolve.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting strongly preferred
    • CPA, CMA certification and/or advanced degree preferred
    • 5+ years of business experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting
    • Proven ability to organize work by priority and within external time constraints
    • Ability to apply a general knowledge of US GAAP and the unique aspects of project accounting
    • Advanced competency in the use of Excel and competency in use of SharePoint and PowerPoint
    • Strong communication, organization, and planning skills
    • Participation in a complex program or project preferred over standard departmental accounting

    The state of Colorado requires Lamb Weston to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to individuals applying to work remotely from Colorado and takes into account a number of factors. A reasonable estimate of the range for this role is $42,680 - $166,370. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to work location, experience and expertise.
