Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is looking for a Traffic Engineer for our Nashville, Atlanta and Huntsville offices. Below are the required Tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Various types of traffic studies such as traffic impact studies, Intersection safety analysis, Interchange analysis, assist with corridor planning documents
  • Provides Intersection and corridor operational analysis
  • Assists with the development of intersection operational improvements
  • Prepares traffic signal and signing/pavement marking designs
  • Using synchro software develop and help implement signal timing plans
  • Participates in project site visits with other project team members as needed
  • Assists with transportation planning studies as needed
  • Direct the traffic count, speed studies, access permit, and high crash monitoring programs
  • Prepare and review traffic studies to determine appropriate treatments and traffic control to resolve safety and congestion issues
  • Works with other disciplines such as survey, roadway design, and environmental to increase engineering knowledge and facilitate successful project delivery
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail
  • Performs other duties as requested


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field from accredited university
  • 2-3 years transportation or traffic engineering experience preferred
  • Knowledge and skill in Synchro, Microsoft office is a must. Knowledge of HCS, VISSIM, ArcGIS, MicroStation and TransCAD is desired.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Basic familiarity with MUTCD and DOT Design Guidelines and Standards
