Position Overview:

Accountable for supporting the full technology stack of an established and growing enterprise application. Ensures the reliable daily functioning of the application including scheduled server processes, system interfaces, and user interactions. Delivers scoped system enhancements via a corporate controls process incorporating established application design philosophy. Uses his or her expertise in client, server, ORM, and database development to deliver ongoing maintenance ensuring scalability, performance, and needed user experience. Stays current with latest trends in software development.

Responsibilities:

• Support, maintain, and enhance an ORM-based data integration process between the product and current systems of record
• Support, maintain, and enhance the Angular front end client features
• Support, maintain, and enhance the Postgresql database features
• Ensure stable operation of all daily technical and functional application processes
• Working in tandem with other enterprise teams and the business, deliver product enhancements as prioritized through the release management process
• Respond timely to support requests submitted by end users
• Adhere and contribute to an existing continuous integration and unit testing plan
• Follow sound source control methodologies
• Be part of a code peer review process

Basic Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Information Systems preferred
• 4+ years software engineering experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 2 years writing and supporting code within an object-oriented, server-side framework, Python preferred
• Minimum of 4 years writing and supporting code within a client-side javascript framework, Angular preferred
• Minimum of 2 years writing and supporting code within one of the leading database dialects, Postgresql preferred
• Minimum of 4 years troubleshooting and optimizing database queries
• Minimum of 4 years writing or supporting ORM models, Django ORM preferred
• Minimum of 2 years designing and writing REST APIs, Django REST Framework preferred
• Effective with source code version control procedures and knows how to identify and fix common issues resulting from the use of version control systems
• Good knowledge of web services frameworks, database ORM modeling, and systems integration
• Able to discuss business needs with end users in business terms
• Experience translating business user needs into implementation requirements and documentation
• Experience performing unit, string, and user interface testing in both technical and business functional contexts
• Understands software design patterns and paradigms
• Familiarity with git and JetBrains suite of products preferred
• Familiarity with basic energy commodity trading and risk management concepts and systems preferred, especially RightAngle
• Familiarity with enterprise data visualization and reporting tools preferred, especially Tableau
