Description:

Reporting to the Intake and Accommodations Manager, the Testing Accommodations Assistant will be responsible for the implementation of testing accommodations for all students registered with Student Access Services. This includes communicating with students and faculty to make all appropriate arrangements, maintaining academic integrity and exam security, proctoring and supervising all testing services. The Testing Accommodations Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining all computer equipment and assistive technology utilized in the testing center.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Ensure that accommodations are provided consistently.
* Support students effectively during testing sessions.
* Work collaboratively with other members of the university, serving as an advocate for issues regarding students with disabilities.
* Keep current on new research and developments in disability services, including the legal aspects of this work.
* Provide advice, training and technical support to faculty and administrators related to the needs of students with disabilities.
* Communicate with faculty to make necessary arrangements for exams to be delivered and returned while maintaining security.
* Receive and process sign-up forms.
* Coordinate student support staff as needed.
* Promote the application of Universal Design in all campus programs and services.
* Support the programming efforts of the university and of the Division of Student Affairs, including Family Weekend, Fall Open House, Orientation, Commencement, etc.
* Serve on divisional or university-wide committees, as needed.
* Actively support and attend Department of Student Affairs and University-wide events.
* Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Required
* Bachelor's degree.
* 3-5 years' experience working with students with disabilities or 3-5 years' experience working in a higher education setting.
* Demonstrated knowledge of assistive technology and its applications in a higher education setting.
* Collaborative, organized, and detail oriented.
* Proactive self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
* Demonstrate cultural competence and the ability to work with students from diverse populations.
* An established record of accomplishment promoting student development programs and cultivating positive relationships in a comprehensive student-centered organization.
* Passion for and experience with working with students, families and colleagues of diverse backgrounds
* Strong quantitative and analytical skills and experience with technologies including Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred
* Experience using Ellucian Banner.
