Position Summary

This position manages one or more technology-centric projects, focusing on arrangement of schedules, and regulates flow of work within project teams.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the adherence and quality of project schedules, scope, and cost.
  • Confers with resources and/or their supervisors to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes.
  • Expedites as necessary any tasks to adhere to schedule.
  • Participates in requirements gathering and facilitates the creation of work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Compiles regular status reports concerning progress of work, issues, risks and changes.
  • Responsible for validating work completed by third parties and confirming receipt of purchased materials for projects.
  • Identifies and documents project issues and risks and manages and directs the appropriate remedial and preventive actions to address concerns.
  • May maintain inventory of equipment, materials, and parts for projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • B.A. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years of IT and business/industry work experience.
  • Minimum 2 year of leadership experience in managing multiple cross-functional teams or projects and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • Currently certified or open to training and receiving accreditation for PMI project management certifications (CAPM or PMP).
  • Self-starter and collaborator with ability to effectively engage business stakeholders directly across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing, in an easy to understand and actionable manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong project management, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient within system platforms of Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Be vigilant about safety
  • Quality - conscious, oriented to excellence
