Nordson Industrial Coating Systems (ICS) designs equipment our global customers rely on for the precise application and curing of liquid paint, powder finishes, container barrier coatings and ambient temperature adhesives and sealants. Production lines work smarter with custom engineered robotic solutions from Nordson Industrial Coating Systems.

The Technical Sales Representative will provide technical service and sells aftermarket components and small booths to an assigned territory and customer base. The territory for this position will be the Northeast United States.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as Nordson's primary representative to identify provide advice and direction to solve customer issues.

  • Major selling activities to include powder application equipment,
  • wear parts, and service products.
  • Demonstrate equipment for customer evaluation as part of the
  • sales process
  • Assist with payback analysis for new equipment
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and quotations.
  • Survey field application and provide guidance for improved operation
  • Network with allied vendors and business organizations
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of Nordson products, prices, policies and procedures. Adheres to policies and follows procedures.
  • Knows which products can be most advantageously used with various finishing and coating products.
  • Provides training support as application expert.
  • Provides technical support in emergency situations, working with customer maintenance staff to resolve issues either on site or on the phone.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Education:

Minimum two-year technical degree with two years of related industry experience or four-year business degree. Without a degree, eight years experience in industrial sales or service is required.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years successful experience in industrial finishing sales or service is required. Previous experience in the finishing industry, capital equipment, or a closely related field is preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Demonstrated sales skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power Point Presentations.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, electrical, and powder coating application. Technical skills and ability to understand/read mfg drawings.
  • Ability to service Nordson application equipment and booths.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

Estimated 60% - 2 to 3 nights per week on average.
