Job Purpose
  • We are seeking candidates with insurance tax experience who are interested in providing consulting and co-sourcing (tax accounting and compliance) services for insurance industry clients
  • Working with CBIZ team members and client personnel virtually or at the client location.
  • In co-sourcing engagements, Team members are responsible for assisting with all aspects of an In-House tax function including assisting with transactional matters, managing multiple internal and external professional resources, as well as federal, state and foreign compliance and various special projects

Essential Functions and Primary Duties
  • Utilize working knowledge of the insurance industry along with demonstrated insurance tax technical skills to provide value-added consulting and compliance products to our insurance clients
  • Implement business development strategies at existing clients and targets
  • Able and willing to work at client location when conditions are safe, but remote or hybrid arrangements will be considered.
  • Research, analyze and develop solutions for various client business issues
  • Effectively manage teams and develop strong and long lasting client relationships
  • Drive a team environment; demonstrate support of management decisions and builds a positive culture
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other relevant field required
  • Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred
Qualifications Required
  • 8 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 5 years of managerial experience
  • CPA license required
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on and prioritize multiple assignments
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools, tax research databases and tax compliance processing software
  • Some travel may be required based on client needs and location, but remote or hybrid situations will be considered.
  • Multiple years of experience working with insurance company financial statements, tax returns and tax issues
  • Quality focused
