The Systems Engineer Estimator is responsible for developing proposals for complete material handling systems and solutions. The Systems Engineer Estimator will be required to read and apply customers' bid documents and specifications, as well as analyze and understand material flows and operations. Applying this information and knowledge, the Systems Engineer Estimator may need to develop simple material handling system designs for smaller systems, including the overall system layout as well as selection of equipment and technology. The Systems Engineer Estimator will be responsible for estimating costs for the project. This will require inputs from and collaboration with other departments including Purchasing, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Field Operations and Project / Account management. The Systems Engineer Estimator may also be required to develop RFQ documents; review and evaluate suppliers' proposals, and participate in vendor selection.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop and maintain a working knowledge of customers' operations and specifications. The ability to analyze application requirements and develop solutions. Understand all phases of project execution and estimate / compile costs for complete projects. The ability to communicate and collaborate with others and other departments. Ability to work with outside vendors and mechanical and electrical subcontractors to pass along customer RFP information to solicit bids to be used in MHS proposals. The ability to keep excellent records and details of documentation of the entire phase of the proposal process. The ability to keep pricing cost records updated. The ability to juggle multiple tasks and changing priorities. The ability to work against deadlines; to focus and perform work accurately and in a timely manner. Have basic working knowledge of control systems related to material handling systems. Willingness to travel as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree (or higher) or equivalency. Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree is a plus. 5+ years' experience in the material handling industry or related. Experience with AutoCAD. Experience with HyCAD is a plus. 3D experience a plus.
