Syndicated Product Manager

Our Cogent Syndicated practice develops best in class syndicated research products containing input from advisors, investors, plan sponsors and consultants to present a broad overview of the financial industry.

Who you are?

  • You are ready for a role that affords you more client-interface, the chance to interpret quantitative research findings (vs. running data analysis), and prepare presentations and reports.

  • You've worked in market research for at least 2 years, having gained understanding for the process of survey programming, fielding and data analysis.

  • You've had some prior exposure to the financial services industry

What would you do?
  • You would work our largest clients - companies you'd recognize and be proud to work with - to provide them with our quarterly deliverables (scorecards and presentations) they subscribe to receive.
  • In addition, you would be the lead on our "on-demand" offering across multiple clients - wherein they pay to have us add proprietary questions to our monthly survey. You would operationalize the process to craft the questions appropriately, prepare for fielding, and then interpret and report on the results. This could be quantitative or qualitative in nature - thus you may also moderate an online bulletin board as needed for the qualitative insights.
  • You would be paired with 1 or 2 experienced Product Directors to support them with their presentations to clients and read-outs of our reports. We offer a customized presentation to each subscribing client as our syndicated results are released. This is where we add value and cultivate continued business. You would be integral to the success of our continued growth.
  • You would participate in marketing efforts by creating intriguing thought leadership content (blogs, white papers, website content, case studies) based on our syndicated data to promote sales and elevate Cogent's market position.
  • Most of all, you are synthesizing findings and doing lots of deliverable preparation - writing PowerPoint headlines and handling client communications. You must like this aspect of the job to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Take the lead on monthly reporting to Syndicated subscribers, creating scorecards and reports on proprietary questions and data requests
  • Orchestrate and oversee the on-demand offering wherein clients submit questions to be inserted into our monthly surveys
  • Manage the logistics of the on-demand service - working with the syndicated data analysts on programming the questions, testing, extracting results, analyzing, then creating the report
  • Manage the logistics if clients seek to add Qualitative questions in the on-demand offering. Develop and moderate an Online Bulletin Board, interpret results and prepare the report
  • Collaborate with Product Directors and the analyst team on new content and/or enhancements for our annual reports.
  • Create content at least bi-monthly to support Cogent's marketing and sales efforts and contribute to our future growth.
  • Support Product Directors in the development of select client presentations and read-outs. Take an active role in learning what the client is most interested in, document and communicate the client-specific requests to the syndicated data analysts, write headlines, and facilitate the timely delivery, collaborating with the Product Director who contributes the summary, implications and recommendations. Actively participate in presentation delivery, coordinating with the Product Director which section(s) of the content each of you will present. Note any follow-up requests from the client, coordinate with the analyst team to gather the data and deliver follow-ups to the client in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of market research experience, preferably supplier side, having seen how data collection and analysis typically works.
  • Experience in the financial services sector preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of research procedures and survey methodology.
  • Exposure to syndicated market research preferred.
  • Must have above average communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must instill confidence with project team members and client contacts when communicating directly with clients.
  • Must be able to manage multiple project assignments simultaneously.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and independent sense of urgency to drive projects forward.
  • Must be detail-orientated.
  • Experience in marketing strategy, tactics and communication preferred.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with our clients
  • Able to work effectively within a team-oriented, highly collaborative environment.
  • Able to synthesize research findings into cogent insights
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
