Purpose of Role

The purpose of this role is to establish and execute strategy and direct the work of Rehrig Logistics Solutions Operations, including Manufacturing, Planning and Program Management, Retail, Pallet and Environmental Services, and Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability. The SVP of Ops role includes oversight of all family members working in Rehrig Manufacturing Plants and Service centers, promoting a culture of belonging and growth.

The SVP of Ops sets annual budget targets & KPIs and delivers a comprehensive functional 3-year strategy. The role ensures effective collaboration with Sales, Finance, Human Capital and NPD to achieve Rehrig Logistics Solutions Vision. The SVP of Ops utilizes RMS to drive continuous improvement.

Lead Operations organization by ensuring adherence to safety practices and utilizing the Rehrig Management System
  • Ensure that the Operations organization is adhering to safe work practices and achieve a goal of zero preventables in Operations.
  • Manage the daily deliverables of the Operations team by following the Rehrig Management System and the culture of accountability it requires. Cascade short- and medium-term work down through the organization by appropriately assigning the work via Key Accountabilities and Core Performance Behaviors. Develop clear metrics for success at each level of the Operations organization and conduct periodic reviews to ensure those targets are being met.
  • Travel to Operation•s sites and Company•s customers as necessary to support the work of Operations and the goals of the Company.

Lead and manage the Operations Strategic Plan
  • Lead the strategic planning process for the Operations team. Ensure that Operation•s strategic plans are in alignment with the Mission, Values and Vision of the Company. Coordinate with the rest of the Leadership Team so that Operation•s plan is in alignment and supports the plans of the rest of the Company. Work to enable the growth of the company.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Leadership team to provide forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Coordinate with Finance in budgeting capital spend. Use the capabilities of the Finance team as appropriate for financial and operational measurements.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor•s Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required
  • Ten years in operations, 5 years in management
  • Good financial acumen, able to read and understand Profit and Loss statements and good general accounting knowledge. Comprehensive cost modeling knowledge.
  • Lean manufacturing experience a plus
  • The ability to effectively work within all levels of the organization, and with external business partners.
  • Ability to lead teams and drive change.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communicator (verbal & written) and an ability to summarize and communicate information clearly.
  • Capable of leveraging data to drive decisions and project focus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (estimated travel frequency • 60 - 70%)
