Description:
* In preparation for the next surgical procedure, assists with environmental cleaning of the surgical suite.
* Adheres to all aspects of universal precautions when working in the surgical suite.
* Wears protective eyewear and clothing when performing patient care.
* Makes appropriate checks on safety switches, electrosurgical cords, power hoses, attachments and available parts.
* Cleans equipment properly and reports any malfunction and/or repair needed to the O.R. coordinator.
* Attend required hospital safety programs on an annual basis.
* Notifies coordinator of any possible safety concerns.
* Provides a safe environment by maintaining own physical health and mental alertness.
* Acts as an advocate in providing safe delivery of case.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or equivalent is required.
* Graduation from surgical technician program is required.
* Current BLS Certification required
