Dow has an opportunity for a Support and Sustain Help Desk Specialist / Manufacturing Execution Systems Analyst located in Freeport, Texas.

The position MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) Support Specialist is part of the Process Automation discipline in Technical Expertise and Support (TES) covering Manufacturing Execution Systems. The candidate will have two main areas of responsibility. First, the candidate will be part of a 24/7 (local/global) rotation for MES Support and Sustain. Second, the candidate will perform project assignments that provide Process Information system configuration, implementation, testing and support.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work as part of an integrated team to support Process Information system applications, both in-house and commercial.
* Troubleshoot process information and network problems (software and hardware) to resolve process information system problems.
* Provide telephone and site support to diagnose and resolve system problems in operating chemical production units.
* Configure, implement, and test new applications to support chemical manufacturing facility process information needs.
* Work with MES Project Leads, Manufacturing Representatives, Process Control Engineers, Environmental Engineers, and Process Safety Engineers to develop, configure and implement Process Information installations.
* Hands-on work in chemical plant control room/computer room is often required.

The Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation assistance for this position. This includes reimbursement for travel expenses incurred to and from test sessions/interviews. Required Qualifications:

* Basic skills in networking and IT periphery.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Servers.
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows.
* Intermediate to Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point), Microsoft Outlook.
* Must be 18 years old or older.
* Must be willing to work weekends, and holidays, if required.
* Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) if required.
* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Preferred Qualifications:

* Familiar with Query Language Script development.
* Experience supporting process information or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) like AspenTech IP.21 or similar is preferred.
* Programming language experience is preferred.
* ServiceNow! Knowledge and experience is also preferred.
* VMS/VAX experience would be beneficial.
* Familiar with Query Language Script development.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Able to work well in high stress, time-critical work situations.
* Participation in regular 7x24 support periods (on-call) to ensure global and local coverage of high priority customer requests.
* Ability to meet minimum safety training requirements and apply safety standards.
* Ability to detect, assess and analyze complex problem situations within the process automation and process information environment and peripheral systems.
* Good communication (written and verbal) and language skills.

Physical Requirements:

Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education:

* A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
* An associate degree or above in computer applications is preferred.
