SUMMARY

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will provide quality function leadership to the Purchasing Team and Value Stream Quality Engineers and Technicians as required in the area of supplier performance. The SQE will be responsible for approving, developing, managing and auditing suppliers to ensure they meet all flow down requirements. Goal is to improve and maintain supplier performance including on time delivery and quality in accordance with CarlisleIT quality system based on compliance to ISO 9001, AS9100 and ISO 14001 as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Evaluate supplier performance to ensure the supplier meets all requirements and does impact CarlisleIT performance to our customers
* Apply problem-solving techniques and cross functional activities to resolve significant problem.
* Supplier selection through:

* Compliance Audits
* Evaluating capability studies
* Monitoring overall supplier performance
* Maintaining Quality Assurance activities such as Quality Plans, Validations, PPAP, Procedures and Specifications to current requirements

* Participate in ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 14001 activities as determined by Quality Management
* Evaluate manufacturing, product problems and field complaints for opportunities to improve manufacturing, product performance and field service
* Conduct and/or participate in activities such as Design and Process FMEA's, Design of Experiments, Process/Product Capability Studies, Product Liability Meetings, etc
* Development of Quality Strategic Planning, Defining or Developing - Cost of Quality, Future Role of Quality, Measuring Quality, etc.
* Ensure customer contract review quality requirements are flowed down and can be met by the supplier
* Interact directly with suppliers on quality-related topics and assist Purchasing as needed with supplier development
* Monitor supplier quality performance, including on-time delivery and quality defects, and drive improvement activities by leading 8D problem-solving meetings.
* Lead Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, and Preventive Action (CAPA) process with Supplier, Internal, and Customer nonconformances.
* Provide leadership and direction to Quality Engineering Technicians
* Regular and predictable on-site attendance
* Responsible for Material Review Board (MRB) disposition

* This position may/may not require passing annual eye testing as required by customers for production activities. If required, exams will be provided by a medically qualified/trained person and shall be paid for by the company

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Experience working in Aerospace and/or Medical Parts Manufacturing Approval environment
* Excellent personal computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office and 3D CAD Software (Pro/E or SolidWorks)
* Prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a high pace, rapidly changing and responsive environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel
* Communicate with other associates and provided training as required
* Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings, specifications and other engineering documentation
* Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
* Outstanding organizational and planning skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
* Analyze supplier capabilities, develop and maintain supplier quality metrics
* Perform supplier quality system audits, and provide support for supplier quality system improvements
* Issue, review, and manage supplier corrective action requests
* Self-starter that is able to work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* B.S. Degree and experience.
* Five years' experience in Supplier Quality Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience of Quality Assurance Systems and Applications, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 or equivalent

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must maintain industry certifications as applicable to position and value stream that is supported

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
