Summary of the role
As the Supervisor, Logistics, you will be accountable for leading shipping, receiving and warehouse employees and assisting with shipping, receiving and warehouse functions, while in full compliance with all cGMP procedures and guidelines. The Supervisor, Logistics will develop resource plans that meet operational goals in terms of safety, quality, and output. This position ensures and conducts proper staff training and ensures that all deliverables are met or expectations are proactively managed towards alternative solutions and communicated appropriately.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving a culture of superior safety in a chemical warehouse environment.
  • Directly leads team of approximately 3 - 5 direct reports.
  • Sets the example for strict cGMP/GDP adherence; ensures requirements are understood and executed appropriately by subordinates.
  • Identifies opportunities and develops process, procedural, and training improvements and efficiencies; generates necessary buy in, drives execution, and measures success.
  • Oversees the execution of receiving, warehousing, shipping, and logistics functions; and supports the execution as needed.
  • Supervises the execution of staging of raw materials, components, and intermediates by using operating procedure standards.
  • Analyzes and interprets operational data for use in trending and for investigative purposes. Leads and documents investigations in own area for quality events.
  • Reviews logistics documentation and procedures for clarity of instruction and ability to execute on the floor; collaborate with others to adjust as appropriate.
  • Provides timely written and verbal updates to Project Cells in support of customer requests; e.g status of shipments, on-site inventory verifications.
  • Supervises the execution of production staging for batches, including monitoring timelines, raw materials, intermediates availability and quality disposition status and shelf life to ensure Right First Time.
  • Provides timely written and verbal updates to daily operational coordination meetings as required.
  • Supervises the maintenance and accuracy of relevant business tools.
  • Writes and reviews SOPs, Work Instructions, and On-The-Job training modules for content, clarity, and executability.
  • Develops, maintains, and reports on key performance indicators within the department.

Requirements for the role
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain-related field with 5-8 years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical logistics function , OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of 8-10 years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical logistics function.
  • Preferred minimum 2 years of supervisory responsibilities or experience as a Team Lead or Senior level individual contributor.
