Are you our next Superintendent of Project Engineering?

The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing project management and engineering services to efficiently manage capital projects from inception through completion by following Mosaic's CPM system to provide support for Mosaic's Florida Mining Operations. Tasks relating to this job include preliminary or detailed project scoping, engineering design, scheduling, cost estimating, procurement, supervision, construction management, and supervision of contract engineers, designers and contractors as needed to accomplish project goals. Supervise and guide the development of direct-report construction specialists. The engineer will also support production and maintenance by working with Operations and other support groups to achieve the strategic priorities of Mosaic. The job will be primarily focused on geotechnical and mine expansion projects, but might include projects related to material conveyance and water management.

What will you do?

  • Project execution and management: scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, contractor management; ensure projects follow Mosaic' capital process management (CPM Road Map) from engineering design (developing engineering work packages for projects, managing Engineering firms, reviewing deliverables) through construction and commissioning.
  • Support Mosaic Minerals Operations at Four Corners, South Fort Meade, South Pasture, and Wingate Mines.
  • Supervise and guide the development of direct-report construction specialists.
  • Prepare, maintain, and present weekly/monthly project status reports to Mosaic Leadership to include progress, productivity, cost, and schedule utilizing the Mosaic Capital PPM System, Tier 1 Scorecards, SAP/CCMR and other templates.
  • Collaborate with Procurement Group in developing scope of works, preparing requests for quotes and proposals (RFQ/RFP's), list of potential bidders, conducting pre-bid meetings, clarifying bidder's questions, evaluating bids, writing purchase requisitions, and reviewing/approving invoices.
  • Actively participate in Mosaic's relentless pursuit of an injury-free workplace through project safety leadership company initiatives.

What do you need for this role?
  • High School/GED required. Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 10 plus years of experience with project management in the geotechnical, or civil projects
  • Plant Maintenance experience
  • Maximo experience
  • Physical work environment is frequently outdoors and exposed to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 85 degrees Fahrenheit
