POSITON SUMMARY

Gibbs Die Casting Corporation (Gibbs) is looking for interns to join our creative team of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialists. Our Specialists are hardworking, smart, goal-oriented and creative, and they are looking for interns to train to participate in every level of Environmental, Health and Safety. Interns should expect to learn all facets of manufacturing, and will leave this position with invaluable skills and industry knowledge. This internship program is highly regarded in our field, so successful participation will be a great addition to your resume. This is a 1st shift position (7am - 3pm), 40 hours per week, paying an hourly rate of $17.00, and does not include sponsorship, housing, or relocation.


PROJECTS AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Develop video contractor and visitor training programs.
• Develop and complete annual noise sampling maps for each plant.
• Other activities will include: attend morning meetings with EHS Specialists, fill-in for EHS specialists as needed, assist with new hire orientation, prepare LOTO tags and locks, prepare weekly Safe Start topic slides.
• At the conclusion of the internship, he/she will develop a PowerPoint presentation recapping their experience and he/she will present the report to our management team

REQUIREMENTS

• A Junior or Senior majoring in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental Management.
• Abilities in MS Office, creativity, reasoning/logic, communication (verbal, written, and technical), problem solving, organization, and time management
