CobbFendley is seeking an experienced Senior Field Technician in our Frisco or Fort Worthoffice.

The successful candidates most important qualifications include:
  • 2+ years of Air and Hydro Vacuum Excavation (SUE Locating) experience preferred.
  • Must successfully pass the pre-employment process to include: Background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Ability to research and review utility company records and identify utilities from field observation.
  • Ability to read and interpret TxDOT and municipal plans.
  • Understanding of utility construction methods.
  • Knowledge and experience with utility line locating equipment (SUE Designating).
  • Capable of making field decisions without direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team attitude.
  • CDL preferred, but not required.
  • Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.

Essential Functions:
  • Locate underground utilities through nondestructive methods.
  • Record and document the underground utility field data in accordance with CAD standard formats.
  • Must operate and maintain company equipment and vehicles.
  • Perform independent research and adapt changing priorities.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work product that is error free.
  • Adhere to CobbFendley’s safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.

Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Mobility within the office including movement between floors and workstations.
  • Repeated motions (e.g., typing, reaching, bending, lifting, and carrying).
  • Communication with other employees and clients.

Environmental Factors:

  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments (approximately 90% of duties to be performed outdoors in the field and 10% performed indoors in the office/warehouse).
  • Ability to withstand extreme weather conditions (i.e., hot and freezing temperatures).
  • Driving for extended periods of time.
  • Use of electric powered tools, cutting tools and other equipment.
  • Potential watercraft use.
  • Noise exposure.
  • Exposure to allergens including but not limited to poison ivy, sumac, dust, pollen, cedar, etc.
  • Entering confined spaces.
  • Exposure to construction and traffic work zones.
  • Extended periods of Personal Protective Equipment use.

Expected hours of work:
  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM CST.
  • available to work overtime as well as some weekends (as needed).
  • Travel approximately 40% of the time and must be willing to work 10 to 12 hours per day when working on out-of-town project sites.
