CobbFendley is seeking an entry level SUE Field Technician in our Denver, Colorado office.

Essential Functions:
  • 1-4 year(s) of Air Vacuum Excavation (SUE Locating) experience preferred.
  • Ability to research and review utility company records and identify utilities from field observation.
  • Ability to read and interpret CODOT and municipal plans.
  • Locate underground utilities safely through manual labor nondestructive methods.
  • Record and document the underground utility field data in accordance with ASCE standard formats.
  • Must operate and maintain company equipment and vehicles.
  • Training to meet company safety standards.
  • Physically locating the utility through test hole/pothole (50% of role)
  • Perform independent research and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Work within a collaborative team environment and perform self QA/QC of work.
  • Adhere to CobbFendley’s safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.

Physical Requirements:
  • Repeated manual labor motions including but not limited to reaching, bending, stooping, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling/crawling, squatting, twisting, climbing, head tilting and handling (fine manipulation and forceful gripping)
  • Ability to lift, carry, and balance 50 -100 pounds of equipment into remote, rural, or urban surroundings including but not limited to use of power saw, concrete/core cutting machine, air tamper, jackhammer, portable water pump, concrete pavement patch repair materials.
  • Use of electric powered tools, cutting tools, potential watercraft use and other equipment.
  • Walking long distances (3+ miles) and climbing on uneven surfaces
  • Alert and responsive while working in lane closure zones adjacent to high volume average daily traffic.
  • Physical mobility including but not limited to hand-eye coordination, steadiness, trunk strength, control precision, stamina, multilimbed coordination, static strength, manual dexterity, oral comprehension and expression, and depth perception
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Mobility within the warehouse including movement between high-traffic areas and walk surfaces
  • Communication with other employees and clients
  • Extended periods of Personal Protective Equipment use including steel toe boots, respirators, high impact gloves, safety glasses, and hard hats
Environmental Factors:
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments (approximately 80% of duties to be performed outdoors in the field and 20% performed indoors in the office/warehouse)
  • Ability to withstand extreme weather conditions (i.e. hot and freezing temperatures, dustiness, etc.)
  • Uneven surfaces, slippery conditions, and noise exposure
  • Driving for extended periods of time
  • Exposure to allergens including but not limited to poison ivy, sumac, dust, pollen, cedar, etc.
  • Exposure to wildlife and insects
  • Noise Exposure
  • Entering confined spaces
  • Exposure to construction sites, traffic work zones, and other field assignments
Use of cutting tools and equipment (e.g., plotting equipment, rotary paper cutter).

Expected hours of work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pay: $25-35 per hour:

Starting pay will be determined at the time of offer based on the experience, education,andtraining of the successful candidate.
