Position Summary:

Wolverine's Sealing & Aftermarket Brake Sales expert. Responsible for growing Wolverine Advanced Materials' sales and building relationships in the North American.

Develop and grow opportunities with new customers, continued support and growth with the existing customer base by promoting Wolverine products and capabilities. Report to management on the conditions and requirements in the marketplace. Work with the sales and engineering team to acquire submit and track all quote opportunities.
Essential Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction and leadership for the sealing and aftermarket brake sales team to meet and exceed the projected sales forecast.
  • Partner with the leadership team to establish and execute product and sales strategy for NAFTA.
  • Establish and maintain executive level contacts with OEM and Tier Supplier community to promote Wolverine value solutions.
  • Maintain program continuity in customer support during and after program development and launch.
  • Awareness and insight of industry trends, market intelligence from the field relative to competitive activity, business activity, and reporting back to the appropriate cross functional personnel.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive competitive database including pricing, strategies, etc.
  • Assures current and potential customers know who we are and what we can do to provide product solutions for their applications. Present our capabilities and product solutions for customer-specific applications.
  • Provide validation of the solutions, costs, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication channels with customers.
  • Bring together key customer contacts that have decision marking authority with respect to performance acceptance, procurement/purchasing, etc.
  • Provide leadership in facilitating development and final solution delivery to the customer.
  • Create the customer pull for Wolverine as a preferred supplier.
  • Respond to customer requests for quotations.
  • Provide monthly / quarterly forecasting updates and reports.
  • Support and adhere to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (TS 16949).
  • Maintain working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

    Position Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • 5 - 10 years job related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
    • Automotive sales industry knowledge and experience required.
    • Gasket, Sealing Material, Aftermarket, Brake experience is preferred, but not a requirement.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and other necessary software applications.
    • Ability to travel up to 40 %.
    • Ability to create a sense of urgency throughout the organization on the importance of meeting customer requirements.
    • Ability to close business.
    • Support trade shows and events.
    • Ability to establish organizational alliances or partnerships with key customers; balance customer needs with internal resource constraints in the allocation of the organization's resources; and gain customer involvement in new product development to meet evolving customer needs and quality expectations.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals and professional journals and engineering drawings.
    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
    • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, suppliers and prospects.
    • Ability to forecast business results and develop a strategy to secure new business awards.
    • Creativity and innovation utilized to face challenging tasks and develop new approaches to improvement.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, solve practical problems, interpret data and effectively make decisions based on data.
    • Results oriented and driven to establish and meet goals and objectives.
    • Practice active and attentive listening skills to verify understanding; proactively inform others about developments relevant to the team; able to give clear, understandable instructions to others; respond to differences of opinion constructively.
