TITLE: Staff Therapist
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT (salary), 12 month

REPORTS TO: Director, Wellness Center
CLINICAL SUPERVISOR: Assistant Clinical Director of Counseling Services
PRIMARY PURPOSE/POSITION SUMMARY
Provide counseling to students employing psychotherapy, crisis intervention, as well as group psychotherapy within the guidelines for best practices; including HIPAA practices, FERPA requirements and university policy. Collaborate with partners across divisional units to identify and remove institutional obstacles including systemic marginalization, racialized trauma, social and economic barriers to student success and engagement.

JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide students with direct clinical care including thorough assessment, individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention.
Employ a trauma informed approach to care that is grounded in social justice and anti-racist clinical frameworks.
Collaborate in counseling training program through engaging in group and/or individual supervision of graduate students completing their counseling internship/practicum.
Assist students with accessing resources (e.g., food, housing, finances, healthcare) and/or refer them for case management support.
Document clinical care and supervision in EHR (electronic health record) promptly according to best practices, professional code of ethics, and Wellness Center policy, following the general practices and guidelines of FERPA and HIPAA.
Contribute to an interdisciplinary environment of quality care and well-being, with Wellness Center colleagues, staff and faculty across campus, and community providers.
Participate in health promotion/education efforts as needed by planning and/or providing workshops, trainings, and presentations pertaining to mental health which may include weekends and evenings.
Support wellbeing initiatives within the Division of Student Success and Engagement (SSE) and across campus as needed or requested.
Consult, as needed, with university faculty and staff, in an advisory role on matters of student mental health.
Engage in one's own 1:1 clinical supervision (with WC clinical staff) and continued professional development and training in clinical mental health.
Perform other duties and engage in additional projects
