Primary Function of Position:

The Product Security Operations Team is responsible for software products, infrastructure, cloud services, and IoMT solutions that collect and analyze medical device machine data from thousands of systems deployed world-wide.

 

The ideal candidate for this position of Staff Product Security Engineer will have proven experience working in cybersecurity operations, vulnerability management, web application security and quality systems. This position requires a candidate with strong cybersecurity, technical, and interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the business, pre-market cybersecurity, peer Engineering teams, and across business units to deliver high quality solutions that ensure patient safety and data/system security.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expertise on Cybersecurity vulnerability management
  • Develops and reports upon Security Operations, and FDA post-market cybersecurity programs
  • Ensures comprehensive, real time status updates and report to key stakeholders
  • Responsible for the timely and successful resolution for Product and shared Cyber Security vulnerabilities
  • Drives creation of guidance-based conformance and procedural documentation (SOP, DOP, WI), playbooks, and continuous improvement / optimization review
  • As required, perform penetration testing, code review (including DAST and SAST), and vulnerability assessment including manual testing
  • As required, supports the cyber risk teams in cyber risk analysis and threat modelling of complex systems, including interconnected web, application, and database technology stack with networked medical devices
  • Bring a solutions-oriented approach and support team
  • Staying current with new and evolving security topics and technologies via formal trainings and self-directed education
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

 

  • Strong knowledge of Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, and Cyber Threat Intelligence functions
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of cyber-attack vectors, vulnerability management, and malware analysis
  • Ability to be concise and clear in communication
  • Hands-on experience with AWS technologies (EC2, VPC, EBS, ALB, RDS, S3, EKS, etc...) 
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Security, Identity & Compliance services (Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, AWS Security Hub, etc...)
  • CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, GREM, OSCP, or equivalent certifications required
  • Strong analytical skills as proven by a track record of analyzing and fixing complex problems in products and processes
  • Excellent judgement in the presence of competing priorities and incomplete data; proven ability to make difficult trade-offs with good judgement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in working effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Minimum B.S in Computer Science or related technical major, or commensurate experience
  • Location: Sunnyvale, CA
  • Travel: <15%
