The Role:

Moderna's Quantitative Bioanalytics department is looking for a Sr. Scientist with a strong hands-on experience in bioanalytical ligand-binding assays, including processing and analysis of large molecules (proteins, mRNA, etc.). This role will primarily support the development and qualification of LBA assays in supporting of our nonclinical and clinical studies.

Here's What You'll Do:

  • Work closely with the Director of Bioanalytical Sciences to discuss the status of the different projects and their progress.
  • Work closely with other members of Nonclinical Sciences as well as cross-functional groups to establish the timelines of each project.
  • Monitor the assay development, assay qualification and sample analyses: review data, qualification plans and reports, and bioanalytical plans and reports. Ensure data and documentation quality and fast execution from the group to meet the timelines.
  • Perform assay development.
  • Help troubleshooting assays when needed.
  • Mentor/coach more junior staff on assays.
  • Coordinate the need of critical reagents (drug products, purified recombinant proteins...) with internal groups.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • BS/MS with at least 10 years or PhD with at least 4 years of post-grad experience
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated hands-on experience with quantitative LBAs
  • (preferred) Strong hands-on experience with ELISA, MSD, PCR or related techniques
  • (preferred) Strong knowledge of the bioanalytical assay validation regulations (FDA, EMA guidance) for pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamic and immunogenicity assays
  • Able to critically review and efficiently troubleshoot assay issues.
  • (preferred) Good project management, organization and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new concepts and challenge boundaries; adaptability to change
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to work with and support colleagues in other departments
