Sr. RF Engineer Lead

Job Purpose:

The design engineering group provides complete end-to-end product development solutions to a variety of customers. These product solutions include development of test and measurement modules, 4&5G macro cell frequency variants, optical modules, etc. The team delivers product solutions from concept definition through to volume manufacturing.

The design team is seeking a Sr. RF Engineer leader. Responsibilities include the execution of complex RF, radio and electro optical systems design. The candidate will be expected collaborate with a cross function product development team to deliver products from concept through to manufacturing.

Nature of Duties:

• Act as lead technical authority on RF product developments
• Collaborate with project management to coordinate development team's activities and manage project schedule
• Participate in technical discussions with customer's technical team to review project status and design solutions
• Provide detailed design of RF systems and circuits for a broad range frequency to up 60GHz
• Characterize RF components including power amplifiers, mixers, PLLs and switches
• Develop verification test plans and execute the tests
• Execute schematic capture and support PCB layout of RF circuits
• Perform cascaded analysis and system link budgeting for RF systems
• Perform RF transition designs for high frequency interconnections
• Develop antenna designs for millimeter wave applications
• Write software scripts to automate repetitive aspects of verification testing and data analysis
• Support SMT builds, monitor yields and develop solutions to improve quality
• As part of integrated product development team, participate in every phase of product development, including requirements definition, architecture, component selection, detailed implementation, integration and test.
• Work within interdisciplinary engineering team to develop high end RF product solutions in line with customer needs.

Education and Experience:

• Relevant degree in engineering
• >12 years of related industry experience
• Expert level experience related to the development of 4&5G macro-cell remote radios
• Expert level experience with simulation tools HyperLynx, HFSS, ADS, Momentum, Genesys
• Experience with capture tools such as Mentor and Cadence
• Expert level experience with radio parametric testing such as EVM, ACLR, sensitivity, etc.
• Expert level experience with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and phase noise analysis tools
• Programming experience in Matlab, C++, Python an asset
