Location/Division Specific Information

Santa Clara, CA / Bioprocess Equipment Automation (BEA) team, part of the Bio Production Group (BPG).

How will you make an impact?

This role reports to the Operations Director for the Santa Clara, CA site. The key success in the role includes strong change management effectiveness, operational/process excellence and strategic implementation of Practical Process Improvement (PPI) and Lean practices.

What will you do?

  • Implementation of PPI and lean manufacturing practices (5S, Visual Controls, A3, SMED, Flow, GEMBA's, Standard Work, etc.)
  • Manage and facilitate continuous improvement projects and Kaizen events to improve productivity and accelerate growth.
  • Provide leadership in the areas of PPI and Lean by mentoring site teams to deliver results.
  • Provide guidance for chartering of projects and kaizen events.
  • Capture & record training and help coordinate the measurement, idea generation, tracking and reporting of PPI savings impact
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead PPI initiatives that are aligned with Value Stream business objectives.
  • Assist in developing site improvement goals and objectives and coordinate and champion activities to meet or exceed those goals
  • Assists in managing the Productivity Funnel process for the value streams to ensure that projects have clear ownership within the business to drive execution.
  • Partner with management to drive ownership of CI activities within the site.
  • Ability to train site resources in the areas of PPI and lean principles implementation.
How will you get there?

Education
  • Minimum required Education: Bachelors degree in engineering, business or related field.
  • Certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, and/or Lean certification preferred.
Experience
  • 10+ years experience in continuous improvement
  • 10+ years working experience in a manufacturing environment with ISO quality standards.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience a plus.
  • Experience working in recognized Lean business system and a solid understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing/Enterprise philosophies
  • Experience coaching alignment between strategic business plans and lean improvement plans.

  • Ability to successfully communicate and develop positive relationships with all levels of the organization is essential.
  • Strong coaching, facilitation skills, and accomplished written, oral and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively lead project teams through entire improvement cycle, starting with project definition and ending with standardization of solutions (leadership experience, strong project management and organizational capabilities).
  • Experienced in advanced data collection, measuring, analysis, improvement and control. Ability to deliver fact- based decisions and apply a mindset for Lean Management.
  • Detailed knowledge of quality theory and lean tools and methodologies (5S, Visual Controls, A3, SMED, Flow, GEMBA's, Standard Work, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems through effective application of root cause analysis and countermeasure methodology.
  • Ability to accurately and quickly assess a situation and determine and implement corrective measures to maintain flow of production.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $141,800.00-$212,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
