Essential responsibilities

  • Leads multiple Agile teams comprised of highly skilled Engineers in the analysis, design, development and testing of mobile applications.

  • Ensures that technical solutions are aligned with Enterprise Architecture strategy, and that systems are built for uninterrupted availability, future extensibility, and low-maintenance support.

  • Ensures that rigorous technical and quality standards are understood and enforced throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Effectively manages competing priorities and ensures that all project and department milestones are met within the approved timeline and budget.

  • Works with Engineering teams to identify technical and program risks and define plans for risk mitigation.

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key business stakeholders.

  • Stays current on the latest software development methodologies, trends and techniques, and spearheads improvements that support efficient, quality application development.

  • Proactively identifies gaps and introduces process improvements that help the broader or organization become more efficient.

  • Oversees and participates in al phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Ensures that software delivery meets agreed-to service levels. Diagnoses delivery problems to identify actions required to maintain or improve levels of service.

  • Hires, onboards, coaches and mentors direct reports and creates an engaged, productive team work environment.

  • Lead by example and fosters a culture of personal and mutual accountability.

  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of end-user and stakeholder needs and leverages this insight to make and influence strategic technology decisions.

  • Ensures that Engineers are suitably trained and well-equipped to perform all job functions and sets clear performance expectations.

  • Accountable for ensuring the effective utilization of available resources and a cooperative, team atmosphere.

  • Participates in setting long-term strategic direction and establishing operational policies.

  • Manages several large and complex programs or projects concurrently, and identifies dependencies relative to other initiatives within the enterprise.

  • Plans and manages budgets, forecasts, projects and associated staffing requirements.

  • Makes recommendations to business stakeholders and serves as an advisor on technology opportunities.

  • Provides implementation guidance while considering priority and available resources.

  • Effective decision-making skills, even under pressure and while lacking all of the desired information.

  • Thorough understanding of and proven delivery experience with both traditional and Agile (Scrum/Kanban) project methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to adjust focus to meet changing priorities, strategic directions and shifting customer needs.

  • Experience managing applications in a hybrid environment of On-Premise, Cloud, and SaaS.

  • Actively manages and leads stakeholders; responsible for ensuring stakeholders and leadership are well-informed of pertinent issues, concerns or challenges.

  • Experience supporting multiple complex systems with significant integration points and external third-party systems through APIs.

  • Demonstrated skill in presenting/selling technical solutions to senior management.

  • Ability to manage executive-level internal and external relationships.

  • Experience with highly-transactional account and payment-related websites

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science or related field, or comparable experience

  • 5+ years of previous people management experience

  • 8+ years' experience in software development

  • Guidewire and AWS experienced preferred

In compliance of Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be, or could be performed in Colorado. If performed in Colorado, this position has a salary range of $151,215-$177,900 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 18% of eligible pay.
