The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center has a great opportunity for a Sr. Manager, Programs. The Senior Manager, Programs oversees the day-to-day administrative management of assigned program(s) within the department and works to ensure the successful implementation of all initiatives. The incumbent operates with the goal of delivering high quality programs to the University faculty and staff and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, the Senior Manager, Programs serves as the liaison to leadership, faculty, students, and staff.

Department Specific Functions:

• Experience coordinating trainees on T32 institutional training grants preferred
• Knowledge of NIH Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) report structure and requirements
• Ability to process expense reports and facilitate purchases in Workday
• Knowledge of sponsor agency compliance requirements (Grants Policy Statement)
• Knowledge of external program related platforms (eRA Commons, xTrain, MyNCBI)
• Knowledge of internal platforms (WorkDay, CaneLink, Travel Portal)

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Serves as main point of contact for program directors, trainees, mentors and department contacts.
2. Tracks and keeps accurate record of trainee activities that are in line with program objectives and for program evaluation and reporting requirements.
3. Assists and supports program directors and pre/post award teams with annual and final reports to sponsor agencies.
4. Works closely with departmental finance and post award teams to facilitate the processing of appropriate stipends levels and eligible programmatic expenses.
5. Works closely with human resources in the process of onboarding, offboarding and stipend increases for trainees.
6. Works with internal stakeholders (e.g., Office of Research Administration, SCCC pre/post award teams) to ensure that programs are run efficiently, effectively within institutional and sponsor agency policies.
7. Develops and cultivates relationships and partnerships with various external and internal departments, entities, and organizations where necessary (e.g., NIH, OGS).
8. Coordinates logistics for meetings, events, and other activities.
9. Responsible for advertisements and recruitment and acts as a clearing house for potential program candidates.
10. Ability to anticipate emerging challenges and develop solutions and operating procedures as required.
11. Works independently and frequently communicates action items and program status to stakeholders.
12. Responsible for supporting and increasing career and/or fellowship grant awards through development and coordination of workshops as well as identifying courses and/or other resources for trainees.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required, Master's Degree in relevant field preferred

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate programmatic operations.
• Ability to establish programmatic goals and processes that support program objectives.
• Ability to effectively plan and/or supervise the activities of trainees.
• Ability to lead, motivate and advise trainees.
• Ability to understand institutional and sponsor regulations and policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively to program stakeholders.
• Ability to effectively teach and/or train specific program intricacies to internal partners.
• Ability to perform basic calculations as related to trainee stipends
