Overview

Falconwood is a woman-owned / veteran-owned company providing consultation and programmatic support to Department of Defense (DoD) Information Technology (IT) initiatives and programs. We provide expert advice and consultation on a diverse range of IT subjects, focusing on acquisition, cybersecurity, engineering, logistics, and process development.

We have an immediate opening for a Sr. Systems Engineer to support the Navy's enterprise modernization efforts. This position may require a minimum part-time presence at the client site to perform classified tasks and testing, as well as interface with the client and customers.
Responsibilities

• Facilitates the system development (encompassing hardware and/or software) through its entire life cycle, from requirements determination through operations and system retirement, with an emphasis on domain expert involvement, risk/opportunity management, and tailoring of processes to meet the needs of the specific project.
• Applies advanced consulting skills and/or extensive technical expertise; full industry knowledge.
• Develops innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Works without considerable direction; mentors and may supervise team members.

Qualifications

Required:

• SECRET Clearance
• Bachelors degree and 5+ years' of relevant experience or equivalent experience in systems architecture
• IAT Level II Certification (CISSP, CASP, or Security+)
• Windows Operating Environment (OE) Certification
• 4+ years of experience in global or widely dispersed systems and networking
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 migration and hybrid deployments
• Experience with Microsoft Exchange deployment and decommission
• Experience with Azure cloud administration and optimization
• Experience in an Agile development environment

Preferred:

• Masters degree and 3+ years' relevant experience
• Experience in systems architecture in a distributed enterprise environment
• Experience with DevSecOps concepts and CI/CD pipeline tools
• Experience with deploying to IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS
• Experience with Cloud infrastructure, including Compute, Network, Storage, and Backup
• Experience in Virtualization Technologies, including VMware, K8s, or Docker
• Experience architecting and deploying Windows and Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of API design and Object-Oriented principles
• MS-900 Certification and/or AZ-900 Certification
• AWS, Oracle, Google, or VMWare Cloud Architect Certification or equivalent
• Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
