Summary

The Sr. Lab Technician position will be responsible for the assembly, testing and evaluation of prototypes for new and existing product applications. Along with other responsibilities, this position will determine future equipment and process needs and ensure safe operating conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform product and component tests under various environmental and application conditions
  • Collect and analyze test data and provide a concise test report that includes observations and conclusions
  • Assure the accuracy of equipment and data
  • Supports troubleshooting of "in development" products and field return units
  • Prioritize internal and external work for completing test request with originators
  • Creates reports, standard work instructions and lab documentation
Representative Decisions
  • Determine if a test is considered a pass or fail and implement next steps, including but limited to next test or product/ setup modifications
  • Design and configuration of test equipment
Expected Outcomes
  • Complete, legible, and comprehensive test reports
  • Ensure all test setups and equipment are safe prior to and during operation
  • Identification and resolution to inadequacies that exist with test hardware and software/data acquisition operating as expected
  • Research and develop new Lab equipment and supplies
  • Liaison with outside test facilities to complete tests where internal capability or bandwidth are not available
Job Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements
  • 2-year degree in technical discipline or certification/relevant job experience
  • 5 years required experience
  • Skilled in basic machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly
  • Proficiency in Mechanical and electrical principles used in Linear Motion and Controls (including programming)
  • Ability to interpret and create drawings, schematics, & data sets and recognized testing standards
  • Proficiency in the use of data acquisition software and equipment
