Job Summary
The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) leads and manages the people strategies for an assigned business unit. The Sr. HR business partner leads the change management projects and manages the HR related internal and external communication. The Sr. HR business partner acts as a member of the leadership team and shares the responsibility for achieving key business objectives through the development and implementation of programs and practices within the business unit that achieve results. The Sr. HRBP is also responsible for driving the development of a productive work culture and work environment within the assigned business unit. This position acts as a single point of contact to business leaders for all Human Resource needs and coordinates the delivery of solutions through effective teamwork with the HR Discipline heads. The Sr. HRBP acts as coach and confidential advisor to the executive in charge of the division along with other business leaders, providing feedback on style and environmental concerns observed within the division. The Sr. HRBP is responsible for active participation in the development of HR practice and policy development within the HR department, providing insight to potential impact on business practices. This position is also responsible for driving the implementation of corporate change projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Acts as key advisor to Sr. Business Executives and leaders within assigned business unit. Provides insight to practices, personalities, skill requirements, organizational structure, and processes effecting the work environment and ability to achieve goals. Oversees the delivery of HR practices and programs to the division.
Leads talent management processes by assisting in the identification, selection, and development of key and high potential employees. Assists in the identification of employees ready for promotion or rotation to maximize the development of talent across different functions within the business. Actively participates in the development of succession plans and in talent/performance calibration discussions. May personally manage the recruitment of key executive positions within the division.
Acts as the expert in managing and resolving employee relations issues within the business. Advises leaders on appropriate actions to take, facilitates interactions/discussions among employees involved in disputes, counsels on the preparation and delivery of performance improvement or corrective action documentation and interacts with legal, as appropriate.
Recommends and develops policies, procedures, and programs that improve and enrich the work environment for the organization, as a whole, and assigned business units, as appropriate. Collaborates with HR Discipline heads to ensure seamless implementation and execution of new policies/procedures/practices.
Leads and drives the implementation of large scale change programs across assigned division.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Flagstar's internal compliance policies and procedures. Takes responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
