The Senior HR Specialist works on a variety of complex HR inquiries and transactions, which may include topics such as onboarding support, performance guidance, employee issues or complaints, policy interpretation or guidance, severance or end of employment support as well as supporting corporate and departmental policies and inquiries. Participate in creating, administering, and continuously updating procedures for resolution of all HR related issues at the business level. Respond with a sense of urgency to problems escalated and inquires for North America employees. Provide analysis and feedback to supported business leader staff and appropriate departments regarding recurring problems and recommending improvements aimed at reducing future occurrences of problems. Supports and responds to inquiries and transactions obtained through a variety of mediums including HR Hotline, emails and instant messaging.

Essential Duties:
 Requires extensive knowledge of company benefit programs, payroll schedules and high level processing, company policies, Federal, State and Provincial regulations for absences, pay and employment practices
 May perform complex human resources duties in areas such as employee relations, training, or other special projects for North America
 Consults, advises and instructs employees with regard to corporate HR policies, benefit plan provisions, bonus plans, employment practices with company, payroll information and/or leave of absence, etc.
 Assistance with generalized reporting of employee data
 Work with employee relations related actions necessary to resolve issues, which may include investigating claims filed through state employment or equal opportunity commissions with strict deadlines.
 Develop a broad understanding of the assigned business unit's operational processes, and procedures, and how these relate to the overall Enterprise strategic goals and objectives
 Participate in the implementation and communication of HR strategies and change processes, acting as a guide to bridge HR and business unit personnel of all levels
 Develop a general understanding of employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, talent management, organization development, Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS), recruiting and staffing, diversity, and other generalist work ensuring COE are brought in for more detailed projects
 As necessary, provide counseling and make recommendations to management to resolve employee performance or behavioral issues, pulling in subject matter experts from the ER COE as applicable
 Continuously stay up-to-date on HR policies, procedures, best practices, and technical infrastructure
 Assist with assigned change management projects, such as employee engagement efforts, restructuring, on-boarding, internal/external employee relations, or HR analytics as necessary
 Build relationships throughout the business unit and internal HR community, and act as a HR subject matter expert and consultant
 Assist operational leadership with recognizing opportunities to improve business capability and identify areas where HR Centers of Excellence can assist
 Ensures complete documentation via call tracking and record retention

Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Human Resources, Accounting or Business desired. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
Experience
Minimum of 4 years' experience in Human Resources or a similar environment, minimum of 1 year in HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role, preferably in a multi-site company/location environment
