The Senior Enterprise Risk Management Analyst supports Cenlar's ERM Governance framework within the Operational Risk group. The mission of the Operational Risk group is to reduce the frequency and severity of negative events arising from inadequate or failed internal processes or systems, human errors or misconduct, or adverse external events. The Senior Analyst will work with support, and have interaction with all levels of management, including executives, and with all departments. This position is within the second-line of defense risk function.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the ERM program that is designed to proactively and systematically identify, assess, monitor, report and escalate significant operational risks
  • Based on requirements, independently aggregates, analyzes and produces risk-based portfolio level reports or reporting packages, using quantitative and qualitative analytics on large and complex data sets, in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, or other analytics/reporting tools/formats
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key individuals within the organization business teams and use these relationships to execute on risk goals and objectives; provides customer service related to data, risk assessments or general risk-based inquiries
  • Assists with the development, maintenance and testing of various risk-based systems and tools, and reports
  • Analyst may be requested on occasion to perform activities related to other risk programs and/or functions, which will provide cross-training and career opportunities
  • Assists with project support for Risk/Control Monitoring goals/objectives
  • Creates and updates procedures in partnership with appropriate leaders
  • Assists in the creation of documentation to facilitate training of staff and acts as a risk-program training champion
  • Primarily responsible for ongoing maintenance and administration of Cenlar's GRC system (ProcessUnity), which supports 12+ modules and risk programs
  • Manages GRC Change Management Tool(s) and process, by vetting changes and ensuring all requirements and approval documentation is obtained
  • Configures and tests changes to GRC system
  • Assist with new module implementations or module reconfigurations
  • Provides advice and guidance on necessary enhancements or changes to the system, to improve end-user experience or system functionality
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or computer science related major
  • 4-7 years of experience in banking, audit, risk management, compliance, consulting, project management or computer science, with exposure to operational risk, compliance, controls management, or audit experience (preferably within a mortgage or banking environment)
  • Expert level skillset with Excel, including knowing how to aggregate and analyze data that is needed to create reports
  • Knowledge of Access/SQL and expression writing, which is needed to configure a GRC System such as ProcessUnity , or prior system coding experience, preferred
  • Prior experience working with GRC Systems, preferred
  • Desire to learn and understand processes with an ability to translate what is learned into actionable tasks, recommendations, and output
  • Aptitude to learn and understand sound risk management practices, including and demonstrated understanding of risk management and internal control principles; basic knowledge of SDLC/DevOps/InfoSec
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Possess critical thinking and be able to think outside box, be creative and able to challenge the status-quo
