Position Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.

$83,078.00-$132,924.00

Position Details:
CSG's vision is to provide flexible, seamless, limitless communications, information, and content services for everyone. In the Data and Analytics data warehouse (DNA DW) team, we contribute to that vision by extracting data from nearly every business process and presenting that data in a timely manner in multiple forms: a client-accessible data store, web-accessible user interface, and business intelligent dashboards. CSG's DNA DW Engineering team is currently hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support data and analytics solutions running in the cloud. As a DNA DW Senior Data Engineer, you will be playing a critical role in building business-critical software solutions to the delight of our end-customers. You will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to and with a team of people including other talented software development engineers, data engineers, DBAs, test engineers, product owners, and scrum masters. Position Details:

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support reliable, performant, and scalable database application solutions with a strong focus on the customer and delivering business value.
  • Create databases, schemas, tables, views, sequences, partitions, functions, stored procedures, users, roles, etc.
  • Perform database performance tuning and deployments and engage in performance management tasks, including administrative, maintenance tasks, backup/recovery and tuning.
  • Provide database technical expertise and direction for development team members and external contacts.
  • Develop new processes and modify existing processes including problem ticket research and resolution.
  • Assists team members in performance tuning and troubleshooting queries under development and in production as needed.
  • Research, analyze, design, and document solutions providing guidance to development of features, fixes, and enhancements.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolve application/data issues, working with client support and operations partners as necessary - including sometimes in non-business hours.
  • Actively participate in a self-organized agile development team to prioritize and manage a large workload of development, maintenance, and support activity, and to continuously deliver high-quality results in an iterative fashion.
  • Adhere to CSG and team policies and practices of secure development, code management, change management, and incident management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of RDBMS (i.e., Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Postgres) development and administration
  • Expert knowledge of SQL code management, including the entire lifecycle of SQL code from concept to development, testing, maintenance, and propagation through a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Strong communication skills, ensuring understanding of both verbal and written material
  • Experience in agile delivery environment (preferable SAFe) and tools (preferably Jira)
  • *nix OS skills and experience (preferably RedHat and/or OEL) including navigation, and shell scripting

Additional Skills and Experiences bringing value to the team:

  • Experience with public cloud (AWS)
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies: Chef, Jenkins, Rundeck, Terraform
  • Experience in a DevOps culture with focus on continuous integration, test automation, automated deployments, and monitoring/alerting telemetry
  • Experience with Java
