This position will provide legal services and counseling in support of Inspire Brands' Technology and IT teams across a portfolio of brands, including coordination (as applicable) with data privacy and data security professionals. This valued team member will work closely with our internal business teams, outside law firms and service providers to provide legal solutions in support of enterprise-wide IT, technology and data initiatives and developments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the negotiation, drafting, execution and closing of projects with respect to a wide variety of complex brand-level and enterprise-wide technology contracts critical to the ongoing operations of the organization, brands and restaurants.
• Manage enterprise IT contracts, SaaS solutions, software/hardware license and purchase agreements, consulting agreements, related SOWs, and other similar arrangements to support the technology initiatives across a portfolio of brands and support strategic enterprise-level initiatives and innovation.
• Assist VP - Technology/IT Counsel in analyzing legal risks for new and existing technology initiatives, from ideation through implementation phases.
• Coordinate with data privacy and data security teams to ensure vendor relationships follow data privacy and security protocols.
• Provide advice and counsel to cross functional teams in support of business and franchisee objectives, including developing strategies for handling legal issues and building processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal IT and technology teams at the Inspire Brands' level and at the individual brand level.
• Ensure that standard forms of Inspire Brands' legal documents are updated as necessary/desirable to reflect current best practices.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Graduate Degree, Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school. Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the U.S.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

• 8 or more years of practice in a law firm or corporation representing public and/or private companies with respect to IT and technology. Law firm experience is preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

• Broad subject matter expertise in IT/technology contracting, including enterprise IT contracts, SaaS solutions, software/hardware license and purchase agreements, consulting agreements, and SOWs.
• Experience analyzing, interpreting and clearly communicating legal strategies and contract requirements for non-lawyer colleagues.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions and exercise independent judgment with respect to highly complex projects, contracts, and transactions, in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, while balancing risks with the needs of the business.
• Experience with data privacy and data security issues.
• Ability to work with diverse group of IT professionals, supporting multiple brands, business units and locations.
• Ability to integrate and balance priorities for the benefit of multiple internal clients.
• Displays excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.

Desired/Beneficial:

• Experience working with franchising.
• Legal experience working in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
• General international data privacy and data security experience.
