Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) District announces the opportunity to work in the Marketing and Communications department as the Digital Communications Specialist III.

The Marketing and Communications department handles press releases, media relations, advertising and marketing, website content, and postings on the main social media channels for Lake Tahoe Community College. This department ensures communication and marketing align with LTCC's mission and values, specifically LTCC's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and anti-racism (DEIAA).

The Digital Communications Specialist III plays a key role in the Marketing and Communications department. Reporting to the Public Information Officer (PIO), the Digital Communications Specialist monitors and supports the execution of LTCC's online communications strategy. Additionally, this position creates, edits, and produces videos for various uses including online publications, collateral materials, website, and social media channels, and serves as the main graphic designer for LTCC marketing and communications materials, as well as reports and presentations as needed.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

Successful candidates will then be interviewed by a committee of approximately 3-5 individuals; these interviews are tentatively scheduled for February 15, 2024. COMPENSATION:
Salary Range: LTCC offers a competitive compensation package that includes a starting placement salary of $51,879 to $57,264 annually, dependent on education and experience. There is potential to reach $66,402 annually, through step advancement plus longevity when appropriate. In addition to base salary, this position qualifies for extra bilingual (Spanish), masters or doctorate pay.

Benefits: Health and Welfare benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long term disability. Several plan options maintain a zero monthly premium cost from the employee and include full coverage of a gold-level medical plan that, on average, covers 80% of healthcare expenses for a standard population. LTCC also matches 27% of an eligible employee's salary and contributes it into a CalPERS pension account for qualifying employees. This position may qualify for the telecommute pilot program, which allows employees the opportunity to telecommute for up to 20% of the work week.

Work-Life Balance: This position is 40 hours per week and 12 months per year, including summer and winter hours. Hours are expected to be Monday-Friday, generally within the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, hours may vary according to the needs of the program. locations. This position is eligible for overtime compensation (non-exempt).

LTCC provides a generous leave package including 17 paid holidays per year plus 12 days vacation (with the potential to reach 24 days through years of service) and 12 days sick leave per year. Definition:
Under the direction of an assigned Director or Administrator, perform a variety of highly complex tasks under general guidelines involving independent judgment and responsibility over projects. Duties involve performing the most difficult tasks that require specialized or advanced skill in more than one area of work assigned.

Distinguishing Characteristics:
A Specialist is trained or highly skilled in a particular subject(s). This is the highest-level class in the Specialist series under general guidelines of a director or administrator within a division. Work is performed within general guidelines involving independent judgment and responsibility over projects. Duties involve performing the most difficult tasks out of the Specialist series that require specialized or advanced skill in more than one area of work assigned. Impact on students, financial, physical, or personnel resources is generally division or district wide with possible external connections.

Representative Duties:
Perform highly complex duties to support the ongoing functionalities and processes of designated area; develop and implement systems and procedures to achieve assigned goals; create, monitor, and maintain systems to facilitate the success.

Organize and analyze a variety of highly complex program functions; input student, compile a variety of data reports from assigned computer system; establish and maintain various automated records and files; review and edit materials for accuracy; assist with special projects related to designated programs as assigned.

Serve as an area expert for program participants, students and others concerning assigned services and functions; interpret, apply, and explain program services, policies and procedures to students, staff, other schools and outside agencies.

Provide analysis of various reports; problem solve when performing calculations, maintain records and prepare reports within scheduled timelines; present and disburse information and reports as assigned.

Consult and collaborate with administrator and director to assess specialized needs and make recommendations for system changes. Participate in the development and management of project budgets and their spending activity on a per project basis; provide historical data and projections as directed.

Assist Director or Administrator in providing routine work direction, training, and guidance to program/department employees, students, or consultants; coordinate the scheduling of, temporary employees; provide guidance to other program/department staff on procedural variance decisions; help mediate situations to diplomatically resolve issues; act as a liaison for district auditors providing records upon request; ensure Director or Administrator is kept informed; and act as lead staff according to established guidelines when appropriate.

Prepare and deliver oral presentations concerning assigned program services and related functions as assigned.

Research, gather, compile and collate statistical information and other data as directed.

Maintain current knowledge of program and organizational laws, rules, regulations and policies.

Communicate with staff, other departments and outside agencies to exchange information, resolve issues and coordinate activities.

Serve on a variety of District committees as requested. Participate in district all staff events including but not limited to all campus team building day, convocation, state of the college address, senior day, and graduation.

Digital Communications Option Class
Work with the Public Information Officer to execute and monitor the college's marketing and communications efforts. Manage and regularly update the college's online presence on the website and also across multiple social media platforms. Ensure that the online strategy reflects current research and trends and meets ADA guidelines on accessibility. Regularly capture photos and videos to create visual content for web and social media. Create, shoot, edit and produce videos for various uses including online publications, collateral materials, website, and social media channels. Serve as main graphic designer for LTCC marketing and communications materials, as well as reports and presentations as needed. Serve as a trainer for new web editors and support the Public Information Officer with social media oversight across the college.

Education and Experience:

Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to: associate degree with 3 years of progressively responsible experience.
